Routine & Dose: Use after every shampoo. Apply 1 to 2 hazelnut-sized amount from short to long hair.

Step 1: Hydro-Drainage & Application

  1. Wash with Le Bain Expert Fortifying Shampoo.
  2. Gently towel-dry or wring out: Holding the lengths with one hand, twist hair with the other hand. Incrementally move down to the ends with both hands.
  3. Longer hair:
    1. Part hair down the back and bring to the front.
    2. Dispense a small amount of Le Soin Flash Expert Smoothing Flash Conditioner into your palm and warm up by rubbing it between your hands.
    3. Starting at each ear, massage it into each section using a light downward motion down to the ends.
    4. Repeat 3 times to tame frizz.
    5. Bring all the hair to one side and run your hands down the lengths to the ends.
  4. Shorter hair: Dispense the conditioner onto your fingers and apply by pinching the ends all over the head. Avoid the scalp.

Step 2: Massage

  1. Detangle with a wide-tooth comb or splayed fingers to evenly distribute the conditioner. Repeat until hair is fully coated.
  2. Massage the ends with light pressure in a downward motion. (Shorter hair: Skip this extra step; the pinching motions achieved application on the ends.)

Step 3: Flash Emulsified Rinsing

  1. Rinse with lukewarm water. Thorough rinsing will allow natural volume and thickness while maintaining suppleness and tangle-free hair.
    1. Longer hair: Use downward motions and light pressure. Always move from top to bottom to seal cuticles and keep them flat.
    2. Shorter hair: With light pressure, run splayed fingers along the scalp from the forehead back toward the nape.
  2. Finish with a cold water rinse to smooth down the cuticles and activate microcirculation.

FAQ: How to Apply Expert Smoothing Flash Conditioner

Optimise the effectiveness of the conditioner with the right application method.

What is a conditioner?

As a matter of course, the majority of us use a hair conditioner after shampooing, especially those with wavy or unruly hair. We know it makes our hair smoother, shinier, softer, and easier to detangle. But few understand how the active ingredients in conditioner actually achieve these benefits on a microscopic level or that it also strengthens and protects our hair.

It’s helpful to think of hair conditioner acting like a finishing treatment you might apply to timber. Much like wood, hair is porous and constantly exposed to the elements, which is why it has natural defences: scale-like cuticles neatly lined up like shingles on the surface of every strand.

Why Everyone Needs Conditioner

When we wet our hair while shampooing, water expands the hair fibre and pushes these tiny protective flaps open. This let nutrients and moisture reach the inner cortex of each hair, which we want to retain. Hair conditioner uses plant-based smoothing agents like fatty acids to make open cuticles lie flat and close back up to lock in moisture and create a smooth, uniform surface. Smooth hair is shiny because it reflects more light and feels softer to the touch.

Clarins Laboratories created its new Clarins Hair Therapy line to innovate a full range of products that advances these properties of hair care and health. An essential component of this five-part system is Le Soin Flash Expert Smoothing Flash Conditioner. Made with 97% natural-origin ingredients. It also contains furcellaria (red algae) and xylitol which greatly improve frizz control and manageability.

And when paired with Le Bain Expert Fortifying Shampoo by Clarins Hair Therapy, 88% of users say styling is easier and 84% report it makes the shampoo perform better* after just two weeks. To deliver a special wellness experience, Le Soin Flash conditioner is lightly scented with a signature fragrance.

Why is it recommended to warm up the conditioner before applying?

With the warm water in the shower, the multiple layers and rows of cuticles on each strand of hair lift open. Applying a product that is colder would close them up and not allow the ingredients to penetrate as deeply.

Can I apply conditioner to my roots?

It is generally not recommended to apply conditioner directly to your roots because the scalp produces its own natural oils. However, if your roots feel severely dried out (e.g., bleached or damaged hair), try applying Le Soin Flash smoothing conditioner for frizzy hair on them once a week.

Is this flash conditioner applied differently on fine hair than on thick hair?

No, the Clarins expert application method is the same whether your hair is thick, thin, fine, straight, or curly.

Should I comb my hair while the conditioner is on?

Yes. The exclusive Clarins application method described above recommends combing the conditioner through with a wide-toothed comb or fingers to evenly distribute the product.
